It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kathy Reamer. A great wife, mother, gramma, sister, aunt and friend to many.
She was born on August 17th, 1956 to James and Marian (Kuncy) Ekleberry in Upper Sandusky. She grew up in Sycamore and attended Mohawk High School, graduating in 1974. She married Mike Reamer of Tiffin on June 21, 1975 and moved to rural New Riegel, living in the same house ever since. There she raised her family of three boys, Nathan, Jared and Erik, and many dogs throughout the years. Although living in New Riegel, she never left Sycamore, working there as a hairdresser and salon owner for 48 years, recently retiring. She also was the bookkeeper for the family business, Design and Fabrication Inc, in Upper Sandusky. Between hairdressing and bookkeeping, she loved to be outside. She enjoyed fishing and walking flea markets, always on the hunt for the next quirky and unique find. She loved to browse for antiques (rarely buying unless it was a “great deal”) with her sisters, niece or best friends, routinely making them wait for her to finish before they could move on to the next store. She also loved spending time with her granddaughters, sharing her gifts of fishing, crafting and conversation with them.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Mike Reamer; sons Nathan (Leanne) Reamer of rural Tiffin and Jared (Rachel) Reamer of rural West Salem; her granddaughters, Evelyn and Natalie; her siblings Karen (Luke) Van Horn of Upper Sandusky, Connie Gibson of Upper Sandusky and Tom (Cathy) Ekleberry of rural Sycamore. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Marian Ekleberry, and reunited in death with her loving son, Erik Reamer.
