Jocelyn “Jolly” Risley, age 83 went home to Jesus at 8:35 P.M., Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at the Inn at Westbrook, Upper Sandusky, Ohio surrounded by her loving family. On June 24, 1938 Jocelyn was born to Glen and Evelyn (Riedel) Geary in Sycamore, Ohio. She married Kenneth Risley on June 10, 1956 at the Sycamore Evangelical United Brethren Church. Kenneth preceded her in death on July 13, 2018.
Surviving are the following children, Julie (Joe) Thomas, Upper Sandusky, Ohio, Joan (Tim) Davidson, rural Tiffin, Ohio and Mark (Diana) Risley, Caledonia, Ohio. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, thirteen step-great grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Chet Geary, Akron, Ohio, Jed (Maria) Geary, Upper Sandusky, Ohio, one sister, Pat (Shawn) Barron, Tiffin, Ohio plus one brother-in-law, Richard (Margaret) Risley, rural Upper Sandusky plus many nieces, nephews and cousins. Jocelyn was preceded in death by two sisters, Marcile McBride and Twila Walton and a sister-in-law, Judy Geary besides her husband.
Jolly was a Christian and a member of Sycamore United Methodist Church for 83 years. In her younger days she was a piano student at Heidelberg College. She played beautiful music. For sixty-two years she was a devoted wife and loving mother. She filled her time being an avid volunteer for Vacation Bible School and Religious Education.
Jolly worked at G.E., Tiffin, Sycamore Meat Locker and was co-owner of Risley Amusements. The family would like to thank the staff at Inn at Westbrook for all their loving care they gave to her.
A private family graveside service was held on Saturday at Pleasant View Cemetery, Sycamore , Ohio with the Rev. Amy Vittorio officiating.
