Jean Louise Willson

Jean Louise Willson, age 88 of Largo, Florida and formerly of Columbus, Ohio died November 28, 2021 in Largo, Florida. She was born in Columbus, Ohio to M. Zachariah and Cleo (Ennis) Willson. She never married.  

She is survived by a brother, Zach Willson, Upper Sandusky, Ohio, one nephew, Steven Willson, Peebles, Ohio and two nieces, Sharon Gross, Oakland, Illinois and Karen Eddy, St. Petersburg, Florida.                            

Jean graduated from North High School in Columbus, Ohio and attended Ohio State University.                 

Jean loved sports and participated in many at a high school level. She won the Ohio Junior Tennis Championship from 1946 thru 1949. She won the women’s Table Tennis Championship in Florida in 1954 after moving from Columbus, Ohio to Bradenton, Florida. She excelled in basketball, volleyball, softball and all women’s team sports. In her later years, Jean found much joy in rooting for her favorite Ohio State University teams both men and women. 

A memorial service for Jean will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at the Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore, Ohio with the Rev. Steve Sturgeon officiating.
