Cecelia “Brownie” A. Meisner, age 93, formerly of rural Tiffin, Ohio died at 5:48 A.M., Thursday, February 15, 2024 at The Willows. She was born on July 17, 1930 in Tiffin, Ohio to Oliver W. Holmes and Ruth VanBuskirk. She married Robert “Monk” Meisner on July 22, 1951 and he died July 12, 2006.
Surviving are the following children: J. Peter (Tracy) Meisner, Melmore, Ohio, James R. Meisner, rural Tiffin, Ohio and April Dawn Meisner, Hilliard, Ohio. Also surviving are eight grandchildren: Nicholle Mariotti, Hollie Brownfield, Peter Meisner, Bo Meisner, David Meisner, Joshua Meisner, Kylar Meisner, and Alexandra Meisner-Rathbun, plus thirteen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sons, David Joe Meisner and Franklin J. Meisner, plus a brother, Jim Black, and a half-brother, William Tate.
Cecelia was a retired custodian for the Mohawk School System, a 1948 graduate of Sycamore High School, a member of the Sycamore United Church of Christ, and a member of the former Mohawk Lioness Club. When the kids were in school, she was very active in the Mohawk Music Boosters and the Mohawk Athletic Boosters.
For hobbies, she loved to play cards at Philipps Pond, rural Tiffin, Ohio. She also loved to watch the Mohawk Warriors, The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns.

A memorial service for Cecelia will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at the Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore, Ohio with the Rev. Darrin Harvey officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery, Sycamore. Visitation will be held on March 9, 2024, from 11:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M. prior to the memorial service.
