Daryl Wayne Weaver, 87, died on April 23, 2019 in Wyandot Memorial Hospital, Upper Sandusky, OH. He was born on February 3, 1932 in Sycamore, Ohio to Orville and Emma Weaver who preceded him in death along with one sister, Ruth Burnside, and three brothers; Marlin Weaver, Arthur Weaver, and Ronald Weaver. He graduated from Sycamore High School in 1950. While in school, he was a pole-vaulter on the track & field team and played varsity baseball. He was also an active member of the FFA (Future Farmers of America) earning numerous awards including the Degree of State Farmer.
In 1952 he married Vivian Mohr who preceded him in death on January 10, 2016 and together had four children; Dennis (Sharon) Weaver of Tiffin, OH, Denise (Reverend Dale) Thomas of Durham, NC, Duane Weaver of Ottawa, OH, and Donna (Rod) May of Sycamore, OH who all survive him. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was a longtime farmer and was employed at GE in Tiffin, OH for 29 years before its closure. He became a member and regularly attended the Melmore (United) Methodist Church in Melmore, OH for 67 years. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Loyal Order of Moose. He bowled regularly for many years. His crowning achievement was that of rolling a perfect 300 game at a Loyal Order of Moose tournament from which he was awarded an ABC 300 ring. He was also an avid Cleveland Indians baseball fan.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM Sat. Apr. 27, 2019 in the Melmore United Methodist Church, Melmore with Pastor Amy Vittorio officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery, Sycamore. Visitation will be held Fri. Apr. 26, 2019 from 4-7PM at Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore, and 1 hour prior to the funeral service on Sat. at Melmore UMC. Memorial contributions may be made to Melmore United Methodist Church, or Mohawk FFA in care of Walton-Moore Funeral Home P. O. Box 350 Sycamore, OH 44882.
