After all her children were in school, she worked at Mary’s Decorative Studio for over 20 years, where she used her considerable talent to upholster furniture and make beautiful drapes. Her talents were many: sewing, knitting, crocheting, painting, writing poetry, and ceramics. Her creativity was endless.

Luella and her husband were involved with Grange, Farm Bureau Council, Wyandot Tracers, Eden Alumni, and Wyandot County Historical Society, among other things. She was also a Sunday school teacher and secretary for Smithville United Methodist Church.
